South Shore Lakedance Film Festival 2008

Welcome to the official site for the South Shore Lakedance Film Festival.

2008 Call For Entries    2007 Winners      Festival MySpace Page

Our Festival is committed to promoting the excellence of true independent and underground filmmakers. We understand the hardships that go along with trying to break into the industry and getting venues for screenings. Thus, we encourage new filmmakers, as well as experienced veterans to enter.

Writer/Filmmaker Eric Alan Sera first had the idea for Lakedance in 2005, while in post-production of his mockumentary “Stone Rockwell: American Icon”. After the world premiere of “Stone Rockwell” in April of 2006, Sera and Towle Theater Managing Director Jeff Casey went to work on planning the event. The First Festival took place during the Weekend of April 13th 2007 at the Towle Theater.

Our 2008 event will be held at the Towle Community Theater, located right outside of Chicago, IL in Hammond, IN.  We are now accepting submissions, and THE BEST will be selected and screened on Saturday August 2, 2008.  Time TBD.  If you have any questions please contact us at south_shore_lakedance@live.com
